’Sweet’ Almond Oil

Known as a deeply nourishing carrier oil, sweet almond oil has been shown to protect delicate skin—especially in babies and older adults. It helps improve hydration and reduce dryness, and can support skin prone to irritation [4].

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is a gentle multitasker, healing when eaten as well as with topical use from head to toe. It’s naturally antibacterial and antifungal, making it helpful for things like athlete’s foot and thrush. Virgin coconut oil is especially skin-friendly, as it’s free from harsh chemicals [12].

Jojoba Oil

Although we call it an oil, jojoba is technically a liquid wax ester—and that’s important because its structure closely mimics our skin’s natural sebum. This means it sinks in beautifully, helping to balance oily or acne-prone skin. Jojoba has also been linked to wound healing and relief from scalp issues like psoriasis [4].

Shea Butter

Shea butter is packed with benefits—it is known to protect the skin from environmental stress (like sun damage), calm inflammation, and slow signs of aging. Shea butter is also a natural source of collagen-boosting compounds, making it perfect for dry, sensitive, or mature skin [3].

Beeswax

Beeswax creates a breathable barrier on the skin, helping to lock in moisture without clogging pores. It also has natural antibacterial properties and is rich in vitamin A, which supports skin regeneration and healing [7].

Castor Oil:

Rich in anti-inflammatory properties, castor oil has a long history of use in treating skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. It absorbs deeply into the skin, supporting lymphatic drainage and even promoting thyroid health when used consistently [15].

Rosemary

Rosemary has been used for centuries to soothe the scalp, combat dandruff, and reduce oiliness. It is also a natural stimulant for hair growth, making it a favourite in traditional and modern haircare alike [1].

Vitamin E

A powerful antioxidant, vitamin E helps protect the skin from free radical damage and supports the skin’s natural repair process. It also improves hydration and reduces inflammation, helping your skin feel smoother and more resilient [11].

Essential Oils

Lavender

Lavender isn’t just calming—it’s clinically proven to relax the nervous system. It helps reduce stress, soothe anxiety, and even support better sleep. On the skin, it promotes healing and reduces inflammation, with antibacterial and antifungal properties that make it perfect for treating cuts, scrapes, and blemishes [1; 13].

Tea Tree Oil

As one of nature’s most powerful defenders, tea tree oil is antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory. This makes tea tree incredibly effective for a wide range of skin complaints—from cold sores and insect bites to dandruff, blemishes, and burns [1; 13].

Peppermint

Peppermint oil cools and soothes the skin while working as a natural pain reliever. It is great for calming itchy skin and relieving tension headaches when applied to the temples. Peppermint is also a known antiseptic and antiviral [1; 13].

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus oil is a powerful respiratory aid with natural antiviral and antiseptic properties. It is often used to ease congestion and support immune health, but it’s just as helpful topically—soothing irritated skin and helping to keep pores clear [13].

Lemon

Bright and uplifting, lemon essential oil helps detoxify the skin while adding a glow. It also supports clearer skin thanks to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory qualities—making it perfect for brightening dull or tired complexions [1; 12].

Chamomile

Chamomile is deeply soothing, both for the body and mind. It’s been used for centuries to ease anxiety, menstrual discomfort, and inflammation. On the skin, it’s especially helpful for conditions like eczema, sunburn, and cold sores, calming irritation and promoting healing [1].

Bergamot

Bergamot is a citrus oil with a relaxing twist. It’s known for its anti-inflammatory effects and ability to reduce pain by calming signals from the nervous system. It also adds a fresh, clean scent to skincare blends [14].
